Philodendron Strawberry Shake is the variegated form of the popular variety ‘Red Emerald’.  Color on the stems is usually dark red while the leaf coloration is usually green with a beautiful palette of variegation ranging from bright white to cream to pink to deep red.

Like most Philodendrons, this variety prefers moist but well-draining soil and some humidity. As it climbs, it should be staked or allowed to climb up moss poles.  In higher humidity environments, numerous aerial roots will form which gives the plants a beautiful look.

Please note that due to the nature of variegation, each plant is a unique individual.  There will be some variability from plant to plant and even from one leaf to another on the same plant.  For this reason, we are unable to guarantee a specific amount of variegation especially younger plants.

To keep this rare but lovely plant healthy, use potting soil enriched with perlite and compost, provide medium indirect light, keep temperatures between 55 and 80℉, maintain relatively high humidity, water only when top of the soil is dry, and fertilize monthly during the spring and summer.
